03/03/09 – New Album!

Okay, so I know I have been pretty guilty of a lack of info on here and on the web–site as of late...but not without good reason.

I am a couple of weeks away from completing the new album. It’s an upbeat mix of funk and soul with a feelgood vibe retaining the DTTB sound played by fantastic musicians who love what they do and understand the groove. This shows across eclectic mix of tracks featured on the album from straight ahead funk to summer time soul.

The album will be released in the U.S and Canada via Shanachie Records, a new home for myself and the current release date is 21st April for the U.S and Canada. I am working on getting it released in Japan and the rest of the world, so hopefully more news on that soon. The title of the album is “Future Boogie” and is made up of ten tracks and the track listing is as follows:

  1. Future Boogie
  2. Spiderlegs
  3. Should’ve Been You – featuring Hil St Soul
  4. Good To Me – featuring Roy Ayers
  5. Gotcha!
  6. The Brighter Side – featuring Hil St Soul
  7. Get On It
  8. In The Pocket
  9. We’ve Always Got The Music
  10. Smash And Grab

As you can see the two featured guest artists are once again Hil St Soul and Roy Ayers. Other players on the album are:

Neil Angilley – Piano, Rhodes, Hammond, Clav and keys, Tony Remy – Guitar, Julian Crampton – bass, Phil Nelson – Drums, Richard Sadler – Percussion especially cowbell, James Knight – Alto sax, Tim Smart – Trombone, Pablo Mendelssohn – Trumpet, Andy Gray – Trumpet and Neil Burditt–Synth.

So, as you can see I have been busy over the past year and a half and it has been a real epic to get this album done, but one that you will hopefully hear has been worth it. I am really excited to be near the completion and can’t wait for it’s release. It has been a real pleasure to have had such fantastic people and hugely talentd musicians involved in this latest release.

As regrds to the live side in the U.S, a new look DTTB band is currently being put together to bring the good groove back to the live side of things later in the year. Once the album is released, hopefully, promoters will start to become interested again and we can get back to playing gigs to our U.S fans.

So get ready for a slice of the good groove as it's finally on it’s way.
